I love London

Houses of Parliament 28/09/09So, having started a blog once before and then running out of ideas, I have decided its time to start again.

What’s the inspiration I hear you say?  Well I was walking to my bus stop this evening and I saw the sky over the Houses of Parliament and I had one of my “I love living in London” moments. Then I realised I have these moments at least once a day.

As those of you who know me will testify, I do spend ridiculous amounts of time telling people how wonderful London is, so it seemed like a good idea to write about it. So again those of you who know me will probably turn off really quickly, but then you could look at it as a way of me getting it out of my system and stop boring people down the pub, or it could give me the chance to look for new things and get a bit less boring. Ok, I concede neither are that likley, but you can hope.

I guess this will be an irregular blog, its most likely it will be updated once a week at best, but its my aim to bring some of those “I love London” moments into a bit more than ramblings (although I am not sure a blog will stop that). Whether its a building I have seen, a pub I have had a pint in, a coffee shop I had a decent cup in (so no starbucks here!), an exhibition I have attended or even a random conversation I have had with someone on the train (ok, unlikely) it will all be recorded here.

But I also want it to be a bit more interactive. If you know of somewhere thats worth seeing or a decent restaurant or even the perfect view of London, let me know and I will try it out and hopefully write about it. I can’t promise to be completely non objective but I will say what I think, which will probably be, like me, naive, full of blagging, not very highbrow and sometimes just wrong. But it will only be what I love about London.

I have also spent sometime wondering where London ends, for the purposes of this blog I decided that I would go with it being on the London Underground or within the Transport for London zonal system. That way I can get, Richmond, St Margarets, Ickenham and even Watford included. No doubt I will write about all of them at somepoint.

Anyway, I have probably written enough for an introduction. Watch this space for why London is possibly the greatest city in the world to live in…
